Airline Asks Fat Passengers To Move To Back Of Plane To Balance It
HOLIDAYMAKERS returning to Newcastle from Mallorca are kindly requested to move about the cockpit to balance the plane. Fat to the back. Less fat to the middle. Those who have been to the front.
Thomas Cook airlines needs to ensure that the cargo and passengers are evenly distributed.
A door has jammed in the hold and luggage could only be loaded into the front of the plane.
Passengers are moving about – there go 71 of them back to the airport.
A Thomas Cook spokeswoman (weight on application) offers:
“It is standard for all airlines to ensure cargo and passengers are evenly distributed on an aircraft and there will be times when passengers will be asked to move to the front or back of a plane… We are disappointed that despite reassurances from the captain and crew, a number of passengers decided not to travel.”
They are disappointed. How’s that for good PR.
But Anorak wonders if Geordies are any better at weight distribution than non-Geordies, and if cargo and passenger cannot be united in the customer’s stomach…
