Madeleine McCann: British Police On Operation Task Will Not Release Files
MADDIE WATCH – Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann: News is that Leicestershire Police files on the hunt for Madeleine McCann will only be made public when anyone involved in her alleged kidnapping is brought to justice.
Anorak learns that force’s paperwork includes everything from correspondence with Government ministers and the McCanns, details of police meetings, and possible leads and sightings.
The inquiry is ongoing and so all files remain secret.
Says a police source:
“Anything in relation to the investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann will not be released whilst it remains ongoing.
“Consideration may be given to releasing certain material, ie, that which would not reveal police tactics, when the circumstances surrounding Madeleine’s disappearance are fully known and the person/people involved have been brought to justice and a suitable period for any appeal has elapsed.”
Leicestershire police force co-ordinates British inquiries under the codename Operation Task.
Madeleine McCann is missing – still missing. There are no suspects.
