Prius Kills Baby: Son Dies As Parents Raise Virtual Solution
KIM Yoo-chul, 41 and Choi Mi-sun, 25 are accused of allowing their daughter to die while they raised a vitual baby called Anima in a computer game called…Prius. The child died from prolonged malnutrition.
“The couple seemed to have lost their will to live a normal life because they didn’t have jobs and gave birth to a premature baby,” police officer Chung Jin-Won said.
“They indulged themselves in the online game of raising a virtual character so as to escape from reality, which led to the death of their real baby.”
It’s a horrible story. But the name of the game – Prius – leaves room for an aside. Prius is the smug-mobile driven by wealthy greenies who don’t brake for humans. When we first heard that the brakes on a Prius might fail we imagined it was a cunning plot for hardcore greens to rid the world of the human virus, or cyclists, as we macho drivers call them.
Now Prius can create a vitual baby that emits less of that Gaia-choking carbon. And a real human baby dies at the hands of delusional parents. Is this the future for mankind, as envisaged by them? Is Prius Viagra for Mother Earth..?
