Police Sergeant Salim Razaq Kept Machine Guns And Laundered Cash In Lancashire Home
SALIM Razaq, 33, is a sergeant with the Lancashire Police Force. He pounds the Nelson beat. He lives in Walton-le-Dale, Lancashire. At his house has a Sten machine gun, two Uzi machine guns, 228 bullets, a knuckleduster, a bullet-proof jacket and £72,000 of cash.
Razaq also has a brother called Hafiz. Among local villains in Preston, Hafiz is known as “The Enforcer” and “Big Haf”.
Razaq has pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice, possession of firearms and ammunition, conspiracy to transfer criminal property, conspiracy to acquire or retain criminal property.
He tried to help his brother escape the law. Hafiz was calling Razaq from jail, where he was being held awaiting trial for kidnap and assault.
Police listened in. Razaq was nicked.
Says Andy Cooke, Assistant Chief Constable of Lancashire Police:
“Salim Razaq was nothing short of a criminal in a police uniform and I am appalled by the fact that a police officer was involved at the level he was in this criminality.”
But, given the recent news on the police – like Mark Saunders, Stephanie Rutter, Darren Grace , Ian Tomlinson’s death,Pamela Somerville’s assault and the legend Ali Dizaei – not all that surprised…
