Will Sienna Miller Kill Off Andy Coulson? NoTW Editor Suspended Over Phone Hacking
SIENNA Miller claims her phone’s voicemail was hacked by the News of The World in 2005-2006. The allegation – now a legal matter – has resulted in the paper’s editor news editor Ian Edmondson being suspended on full pay.
The actress claims the newspaper paid private investigator Glenn Mulcaire 2,500 pounds ($3,900) to listen in on the messages and that Edmondson approved the contract with Mulcaire.
Says the paper:
“We have followed our internal procedures and we can confirm this person was suspended from active duties just before Christmas. The allegation is the subject of litigation and our internal investigation will take place in tandem with that.”
Clive Goodman, the papers royal expert, and private investigator Glenn Mulcaire have each served six months jail on the same charge.
The paper’s then editor Andy Coulson resigned. He is now Prime Minister David Cameron’s director of communications. He says he never knew phones were being hacked.
This story is not going away.
