Brave Liver (Chopped): Mel Gibson To Make Film About Jewish Hero Judah Maccabee
JEWS! What do you make of Mel Gibson? He’s not exactly been Mr Popular with the Jews after being accused of anti-semitism when resisting arrest a while ago.
If you don’t remember, Gibbo is alleged to have yelled:
“You motherfucker! I’m going to fuck you! Fucking Jews! The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.”
As an aside, when he noticed he was being filmed while shouting his mouth off, he signed off with the flourish of:
“What do you think you’re looking at, sugar tits?”
And now, after admitting that he slapped his ex, Oksana, and having appeared in a film with a beaver grafted onto his arm, he’s now set to play Jewish icon Judah Maccabee.
(He also allegedly told Oksana Grigorieva, “I want Jew blood on my hands.” And then there were his view on those raping “niggers“. Look out for Mel playing Nelson Mandela in Brave Shirt. Melvin has an ology in being empathetic with the lower races.)
Gibson is to play the religious leader in the as-yet-untitled drama scripted by Basic Instinct writer Joe Eszterhas, according to Deadline. It’s Brave Liver all over again.
The story will look at Judah’s triumph over tyranny and oppression, leading a Jewish revolt against the Greek-Syrian armies that had conquered Judea in the second century BC… but you don’t care about that. You want outrage.
And so, over to Abraham Foxman, national director of the Anti Defamation League, who says:
“Judah Maccabee deserves better. He is a hero of the Jewish people and a universal hero in the struggle for religious liberty. It would be a travesty to have his story told by one who has no respect and sensitivity for other people’s religious views.”
