Sun Fails In Search For Rebekah Brooks’ Surrogate: Cristiano Ronaldo And Charlotte Church Not So Lucky
WILL the Sun respect the privacy of the surrogate mother carrying Rebekah Brook’s child?
The spokesman for the former Sun supremo asks media:
“Charlie and Rebekah are overjoyed. While the pregnancy has not been without its difficulties and sadness, they hope for a very happy ending after almost five years of trying for a baby themselves.”
The media then in one voice reports, as if repeating a PR-fed mantra:
The surrogate mother has not been named and wishes to remain anonymous.
No-one has coughed up her name…yet. But will the sun be delving in? The Sun that brought us such news as:
Ronaldo’s a dad …but who’s mum?
Cristiano Ronaldo, the Real Madrid footballer, wrote:
“It is with great joy and emotion that I inform I have recently become a father to a baby boy. As agreed with the baby’s mother, who prefers to have her identity kept confidential, my son will be under my exclusive guardianship.”
Under that aforesaid headline the Sun also carried footballer’s request for privacy:
“It is with great joy and emotion that I inform I have recently become father to a baby boy. As agreed with the baby’s mother, who prefers to have her identity kept confidential, my son will be under my exclusive guardianship. No further information will be provided on this subject and I request everyone to fully respect my right to privacy (and that of the child) at least on issues as personal as these are.”
And all this in light of Charlotte Church’s appearance at the Leveson Inquiry into media standards, in which the Welsh singer’s lawyer David Sherborne, said that The News of the World had reported that she was pregnant before she told her parents.
So. Will the Sun now asked who Brook’s surrogate is?
