Skegness CID Turn Hunt For Twitter Twat Who Racially Abused Man City’s Micah Richards Into A PR Exercise
DID you racially abuse Manchester City and England players Micah Richards on Twittre? Did you twat an offensive email from somewhere in Lincolnshire?
Well, if you did, you’d best worry. Police are looking for you. And if they catch you they’ll… They’ll. Well, what? Spend a lot of time and money taking you to court to make an example of you?
Det Insp Andy Wardell, from Skegness CID, says:
“Whilst the investigation is still in its early stages, Lincolnshire Police will be conducting a robust enquiry and wish to make it clear from the outset that racist comments aimed at anybody, not just those in the media spotlight, will not be tolerated and those committing such offences can expect to be pursued and dealt with under the relevant legislation.”
Bollocks, of course.
The police can not possibly investigate every racial incident on twitter any more than they can pursue the Twatters who called for mentally negligible Emma West to be raped, shot, and sterilised, and her child to be made an orphan for allegedly hurling racial abuse on a Croydon tram.
Of course, Jordan Blackshaw, 20, from Northwich Town, and Perry Sutcliffe-Keenan, 22, of Latchford, Warrington, were sentenced at Chester crown court to four years prison after admitting using Facebook to try to organise riots. No trouble resulted from their call to arms. But the fashion was for the police and justice system to crack down on rioters. So they went to jail. As yet, demanding that a stupid woman be deported to Africa and murdered is ok.
Meanwhile, the police are pursuing the pillock who racially abused Richards from the comfort of his outside toilet precisely because Micah Richards is in the media spotlight. Right now, the nosy media is reporting on the murder of Stephen Lawrence – killed in a climate of institutionally racist police. The cops need to tell the slack-jawed masses via the media just how much they really, really, really, really hate racism.
It’s not about racism. It’a about PR…
