Ricky Martin’s Vida Loca adopted as Kazakh national anthem
IT was a proud moment for Kazakhstan and Ricky Martin when Livin ‘la Vida Loca was adopted as the country’s national anthem.
Given the British Royals’ desire to look normal, the move must be for the United Kingdom to follow the example. The anthem could change to deliver vital political messages. War with Argentina over the Falkland Islands looms, so make the anthem Islands in The Stream, or Rock Island:

“Eyes on the flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The hymn of the Republic of Kazakhstan is beginning,” the voice-over intoned. But then, as Saduakasov and the rest of the ceremony participants stood with hands on hearts, the sound system launched into Martin’s bouncy pop hit.
Saduakasov and several participants of the ceremony remained motionless until the Martin song was replaced with the Kazakh national anthem.
