Transfer Balls: Arsenal Force Liverpool To Sell Suarez To Madrid
TRANSFER Balls, in association with the Daily Suarez: today the Express reports that Real Madrid have told to pay £40m if they want Karim Benzema. Real need the money to fund a bid for Suarez.
The reason behind the Spanish side’s reluctance to let Benzema depart on the cheap stems from their desire to sign either Liverpool’s Luis Suarez or Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero.
In footballing money, “the cheap” is the £30m Arsenal were prepared to pay for the French forward.
So. It might be that the Gunners end up paying £1 less than the £40million plus one pound they offered for Suarez last summer.
That looks like hard cheese on Arsenal, who would have won the league title with Suarez had Liverpool honoured his contract. And they’d have turned a massive profit, as the Star reports:
The La Liga giants are willing to bid £100m to try and lure Suarez away from Liverpool, according to sources in Spain.
Those sources are unnamed, of course. Because it’s all guesswork.
More Luis Suarez balls as soon as the Press make it up…
