Transfer Balls Awards: Arsenal Sign Cavani And Khedira, Manchester United Get Vidal, Kroos And Hummels – Falcao To Liverpool
TRANSFER Balls: Over the summer Anorak has been highliting the utter balls newspapers and football websites have presnted as fact. Time to review some of the choices cuts. As ever the biggest balls features Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Cheslea.
The Daily Mail told Manchester United fans that Miranda was on his way to the club from Atlético Madrid. He was looking at local schools for his children. He never left home.
The straw-clutching CaughtOffisde wesbite told its readers that Arsenal had signed Sami Khedira. The player remains at Real Madrid.
And:
The Daily Express – and lots of utter balls from that newspaper – told Arsenal fans that Alvaro Morato was on his way. He now plays for Juventus.
The venerable Times informed its readers that Chelsea were selling Davis Luiz to Barcelona. It was a done deal. Luiz plays in France for PSG.
Back to the Express, which knew that Toni Kroos had joined Manchester United. He now plays for Real Madrid.
The Manchester Evening News agreed that Kroos to United was a “done deal”.
The Daily Mail agreed that Kross was at United.
The Daily Star said Arsenal had offered AC Milan £25m for Mario Balotelli. He joined Liverpool for £16m.
Balotelli was dropping clues.
The Express said Luis Suarez was staying at Liverpool. He now plays for Barcelona.
The Liverpool Echo agreed. Suarez stays!
The Star said Alex Song was on his way from Barcelona to Manchester United. He went nowehre. And Arturo Vidal went nowhere, staying at Juventus.
But others said Vidal did join United.

The Daily Mirror knew that Thomas Vermaelen had joined Manchester United. He now plays for Barcelona.

The Express said that Mats Hummels had agreeed to join Manchester United. Hummels continues to play for Borussia Dortmund.
The Express knews that Arsenal wanted PSG’s Edinson Cavani. They never bid at all.
Sky Sports Mr DEADLINE Day Jim White spotted Mehdi Benatia on his way from Roma to Manchester United. Benatia now plays for Bayern Munich.
The Star said Benatia was going to remain in Rome.
The Express said Bayern had no chance of signing Benatia.
The Sun said that Lukas Podolski ws leaving Arsenal for Juventus. Poldi continue to warm the Arsenal bench.
This chap – often billed in the UK press as a reliable news source – sais Radamel Falcao had joined Real Madrid.
