You can have Paris. But you free speech fundamentalists can never have Bristol University campus. The local Student Union’s “Safe Space” policy forbids free speech lest it fuddle a student’s minds and makes them confront ideas they don’t like.

Bristol University SU officer Alex Bradbook is here to protect the fragile:

Alex Bradbrook appears be saying that Safe Space is a Zone of anti-offensiveness. If you cause offence, you are out of the Zone. The Safe Space policy aims to keep students “free from fear of threats, intimidation, harassment and the deliberate, or negligent, creation of unsafe or unwelcoming conditions.”

You can buy a Safe Space (TM) at all good toy shops. The kit contains: one person-sized recycled cardboard box with #jesuisCharlie sticker; fair trade cotton wool; and instructions on how insert your fingers up your nostrils.
