But the Times, 34, alleges Rojo, 25, sent Sarah Watson a recording of himself masturbating along with “explicit messages” and photos.
Why anyone would do this is bemusing. Why anyone with a public profile would resort to digitally insultated solo sex suggests bordom and deep mental negligibility.
To add to the stickiness, at a flat belonging to Rojos’ friend, Waston claims she prefomed a “sex act” on the Argentinean watched by four other players, who might or might not also play for Machester United.
The Times‘ report presents a beautiful tableau. The Manchester Evening News says “four other players tried to watch them”.
Whatever the view, Watson thought it an idea to sell her story. She says this was never her intention. She tells the Daily Mail:
“I did it because I liked him, not for money or with any intention to sell the story on… I didn’t set out to do a kiss and tell, but the chance to make some money to pay for my personal training course was very tempting. I’m a single woman and I had not done anything illegal or that I was ashamed of.”
One thing led to another and Watson secured a contract with the Sun for a sum of £30,000, later reduced for reasons unclear to £17,500.
Marcos Rojo was not entirely chuffed with this. The Times says he’s in a long-term relationship with lingerie mo-del Eugenia Kusardo with whom he has a two-year-old daughter. The Mail says the couple are married.
So much for the facts.
What is clearer is that Rojo and his lawyers set about making sure Watson’s story never saw the light of day. They claimed that Rojos was the victim of a blackmail plot. They told a court that Watson had demanded £100,000 to keep quiet. That was enough to secure a temporary injunction.
But Sarah Watson was unhappy that her name had been sullied. She challenged the injunction.
And it was changed when Mr Justice Warby said Rojos’ reps had tried to buy Watson’s silence. There had been no blackmail plot. The players’ reps had gotten wind that The Sun was going to expose their man and offered to best the tabloid’s offer.
Warby ruled that Rojo must pay Watson’s estimated £25,000 (Mail) / £35,000 (Times) legal costs.

Watson is relieved. She’s quoted in the Times:
“These guys are like spoiled rich kids. They are overpaid, oversexed and have a sense of entitlement… what happend to me show how welthy people sue injunctiosn to bully poor people. It is a small mistake that has caused so much pain and anguish.”
And she tells the Daily Mail:
“They’re just so powerful. They probably thought ‘She’s a cheeky bitch, she’s trying it on’. They’re a ruthless giant. They tried to hoover it all away so no one would know, but you can’t hoover up the truth, can you?”
The irony is that in the Sun, there is not a single word on his pathetic episode.,,
