The tabloids fill the hiatus between Premier League seasons with transfer balls and news of footballers on holiday. The Sun brings news of Aston Villa star Jack Grealish’s “hol shame as he’s ‘found lying in gutter’”.
Shame?
FOOTIE starlet Jack Grealish appears to lie slumped in the road at 8am after a night out on a Tenerife holiday. The Aston Villa midfielder, 19, was pictured with a cigarette packet beside his head outside a hotel in Costa Adeje.
The lad needs saving from himself. It’s a slippery slope from being near cigarettes to being near people smoking cigarettes.
Briony King, 20, a waitress on the Spanish island, spotted the footballer on Saturday while walking home with her DJ boyfriend Adam Grocott. Briony, from Darlington, said: “We just thought he was a p****d-up tourist. We tried to wake him but he was paralytic.”
When is a pissed tourist not a pissed tourist lying on a a road? When he’s a talented teenager ‘in the ‘gutter’.
And did caring Briony try to wake him with the flash from her camera?
Briony realised it was him when a friend posted a picture of him earlier in the night on Facebook.
It was so much simpler in the old days when fans just wanted an autograph and a shag.
