Transfer Balls: Arsenal are after Karim Benzema.
Well, so says the Metro. The newspaper quotes Spanish journo, Paco Gonzalez, who claims that Arsene Wenger has phoned the £42million-rated Real Madrid star in an attempt to convince the French international to move to the Emirates.
Only a year ago, the Star said Liverpool had signed Benzema for £38m.
But this is kosher. The Telegraph says Paco Gonzalez is a man referred to as a “respected Spanish journalist” by at least four different news outlets.
But what says Karim about the British media’s speculation?
Nothing.
