Mortar Attack On Israel
SAYS The JPOST: “A woman was moderately wounded on Thursday afternoon as at least 30 mortar shells and 18 Kassam rockets pounded southern Israel, most of them hitting the Ashkelon Beach region.”
The woman, 59, was wounded by shrapnel in Kibbutz Yad Morderhai shortly after noon. She was evacuated to Barlizai Hospital in Ashkelon. A number of fires broke out in the area following the attack…
Or, as the BBC puts it:
A powerful explosion has destroyed a Hamas commander’s house in northern Gaza, killing at least three people, including a baby girl.
Hamas blamed Israel’s army for the blast, but it said there had been no military activity in the area.
Shortly after the explosion, which levelled the house in Beit Lahiya, a barrage of mortars and rockets was fired over the border at Israel.
The blast wounded at least 25 people and several houses were damaged.
Separately, Israeli forces killed four Palestinian militants including two who were spotted planting explosives near the border fence at the Erez crossing point.
