Madeleine McCann: Brian Kennedy Is Talking Balls With Mark Souster
MADDIE WATCH – Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann, Kate McCann and Gerry McCann
THE TIMES: “Brian Kennedy’s quest to find Madeleine”
Madeleine has turned up in the rugby pages. Mark Souster investigates…
There is no doubt that Brian Kennedy is a driven man. He has built a business empire with a turnover of more than £400million, as owner he has transformed Sale Sharks into one of the leading rugby clubs in Britain, who face Munster tomorrow in the second round of the Heineken Cup, and fathered five children.
But what’s he really famous for?
He is ultra-competitive. Only last weekend he raced Kingsley Jones, the club’s coach and former Wales captain, uphill and beat him even though there is more than ten years between them.
Eat yer heart out, Sisyphus. But what is Brian Kennedy all about..?
Family – he married at 19 – sport and the commercial world are his life blood. But over the past year he has also been consumed by another cause.
Here it comes…
Kennedy has been heavily involved in supporting Gerry and Kate McCann in the search for Madeleine, their missing daughter.
Indeed. What of it?
Kennedy 48, is reluctant to talk about his role or the reasons why he chose to put a chunk of his fortune, estimated at more than £250million, at their disposal.
But it’s headline-making stuff in the Times. It defines the man…
He has said before that he simply felt compelled to step in. “I have chosen to keep a low profile on this,” Kennedy said yesterday. “It is not about me. It is about Madeleine. I don’t want to comment personally on this except to say there is a big job still to do and we are focusing on getting it done.”
OK. Fair enough. The Times respects the man’s wishes. Back to the match…
Seventeen months after her disappearance in Portugal, Kennedy remains as committed as ever to discovering what happened to Madeleine and helping the family to end their torment.
Game on…
Kennedy has become friends with the McCanns and Gerry has been his guest at Sale. “He is a keen rugby man and really likes his sport”…
It’s a game of two halves. And their daughter…
There are a lot of people helping by putting in a lot of time. But as I have said, it is not about me, them, Kate or Gerry. It is about a poor little kid who might be out there needing to be found. So therefore we need to move mountains to find her.”
Indeed. OK. Let’s move on…
The discussion switches to rugby…
So, Brian, is this for Maddie..?

Hi Rasputin, I just wanted to clarify that my home board is not 3A’s, although I do belong there. ‘MISSING’ is my home, known as the Green Board. ;}
About Coldwater, I was sucked in along with everyone who just knew he had to have righteous sources. It is too bad he didn’t return to set a stake in the ground for honor after the Final Report came out. It told me just what he was made of, and so I now don’t hold anything fast that he gave to us.
I wiah I had read in the Final Report about the original contents of the blue bag being removed by the PJ and put into a creme canvas bag and set out by the roadside dump spot close to the airport. All done to send a message to the T9 as to what investigators had and get them hopefully sweating bullets!
I didn’t. Too bad, as it would have been such a coup to trap them mentally and with evidence. I still hope that somehow, in some way, the law will put those who violated Madeleine’s rights as a human being into a place they can not squirm out of.
She needs peace. And as a dear friend of my has always said, a memorial. A special place that is her own here on earth.

Jane Servais: No, I don’t. She has bad days, I have bad days, we work together as a team. If I misinterpret what she is telling me, we’re fallible.

Has anyone ever seen the headline “Psychic wins lottery” ?

Having had one or two psychic experiences myself I don’t dismiss psychics out of hand. The trouble, in this case, is that we have Spooky and MJ saying she’s alive and well and being treated like a princess, we have Brian Ladd saying she’s dead in Praia Da Luz (buried under Murat’s house) and we have Ms Baron saying she was taken by Steve or Stav ………….. well you can read it.
If all the psychics were in agreement it would be more reassuring. I’m waiting for my own psychic dream about Madeleine but I haven’t had one and it’s been a long time coming.
When you get a psychic dream you wake up really bored with it. You think, Oh that’s what happened, it’s as if it happened ages ago and everybody knows and it’s long gone. When you get that feeling it’s always right. But with this, no luck so far.

We are a bit more used to open discussion here, unlike your home board the 3arses, I believe the poster known as coldwater, to coin a phrase, ripped the pish out of each and every one of the inhabitants of that dark place the 3arses. Yes indeed, posters on this board of whichever opinion are not as easily led as the 3arses dimwits.

Hi, I am surprised you don’t discuss the bones thrown out here by Anorak. . . . the shower curtain, Kate’s church whispers and The Blonde of Karia Ba Mohamed . . .
Has anyone read of blood evidence on the shower curtain? Coldwater said it had M’s DNA
Someone heard Kate whisper something of note in church?
Is Karia from Morocco?
I would think these bones were made for walking. At least it is velly intellesting. I wish the journo who wrote that was posting here! IMO

I AM a Yank (but, being from the capital-S South, I don’t especially like the word), but this deal was in the news forever ago–I gotta think, like, January or February? You can trust me when I tell you these guys are anything but taken seriously here.
