Obama Says He’d Bomb Hamas, Do Whatever It Takes
HAMAS asks for a damn good thrashing. Israel obliges. And Barack Obama..? Well, he’d do more, Remember this?
President-elect Barack Obama has voiced sympathy for Israel’s predicament. During his visit to Israel last summer, he held a news conference in Sderot, the southern town that has borne the brunt of the Gaza rocket attacks, saying he does not “think any country would find it acceptable to have missiles raining down on the heads of their citizens.”
“If somebody was sending rockets into my house where my two daughters sleep at night, I’m going to do everything in my power to stop that,” Obama said at the time. “And I would expect Israelis to do the same thing.”
But the jihadis and militant Palestinians want blood. And they don’t care whose it it:
A suicide bomber on a bicycle blew himself up Sunday amid a crowd of demonstrators in northern Iraq who were protesting Israel’s airstrikes on Gaza, killing one demonstrator and wounding 16 others, Iraqi police said.
Can he be helped? Will the Israelis allow him to be treated?
Egypt on Sunday blamed Hamas for not letting hundreds of Palestinians wounded by Israeli air strikes leave the Gaza Strip for treatment, with dozens of empty ambulances waiting on the border.
More than 270 Palestinians have been killed and 600 wounded since Israel began hammering the Gaza Strip with air strikes on Saturday, but no wounded have yet left via Rafah, the Hamas-ruled territory’s only Arab border crossing.
“No one has come in, we don’t know why they’re closed on the other side,” a senior border security official told AFP. Several plane- and truck-loads of aid are also waiting to be allowed into the Gaza Strip, a security official said.
“The wounded are barred from crossing” into Egypt, Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit said in Cairo, blaming “those who control Gaza. We are waiting for the wounded to cross.”
Wonder whay they won’t let the injured get help? Maybe it’s to make them look like victims, or something else?
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a religious decree to Muslims around the world on Sunday, ordering them to defend Palestinians against Israel’s attacks on Gaza, state television said.
“All Palestinian combatants and all the Islamic world’s pious people are obliged to defend the defenceless women, children and people in Gaza in any way possible. Whoever is killed in this legitimate defence is considered a martyr,” state television quoted Khamenei as saying in a statement.
But it the Israeli attacks could not be stopped – the Israelis are addicted to violence:
Hamas could have prevented Israel’s attack on the Gaza Strip, Mahmoud Abbas said Sunday.
The Palestinian Authority president also called on Hamas to renew its cease-fire with Israel.
“We spoke to them and told them, ‘Please, we ask you not to end the cease-fire. Let it continue,'” Abbas said during a news conference with Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit. “We want to protect the Gaza Strip. We don’t want it to be destroyed.”
Abbas also called the continuing rocket attacks on Israel “acts of foolishness.”
Makes you wonder what it is Hamas wants?
