Caribbean Bans Speedos And Bikinis

by | 13th, January 2009

THE Caribbean island of Grenada is enforcing an indecent exposure law banning swimsuits away from the beach.

Police commissioner James Clarkson opines:

“Any time you allow lawlessness to start taking effect on your country, you have a problem.ā€ It is part of a campaign aimed at “bringing back morality into the country”.

G-strings are the thin edge of the wedge. Speedos can become aggressive, and Old Mr Anorak advises against them.Ccut off shorts made from mink are the gentler option in every way. Or try a natty pair of short cords, which are both passive and law abiding.

And in Grenada speedos are verboten, so too mankinis, bikinis and the cutting edge trikini for him ā€˜nā€™ her.
Also banned are trousers that expose the underwear beneath and beg for the belt and braces approach of Empire.

One item missed out, however, is the urban flip-flop an item of beachwear that has sneaked into the city vista.

This above all others should be stamped out by policemen in large black boots, literally.

Flip-flops have their place many is the time OMA has used one when all the Thai ladies ping-pong bats have worn out or broken on impact.
