Blind Muslim Woman Gets Guide Horse

MONA Ramouni, 28, is blind. She is a Muslim living in Detroit. Her family considers dogs too unclean for the house. She cannot have a guide dog. So she’s getting a guide horse.
The horse is called Mexicali Rose. It’s a 3-year-old former show horse. Mexicali Rose is 2 1/2 feet tall.
Says she:
“I had basically given up. I mean, I had been to the point where I thought, ‘I’m going to get nothing out of my life. And having Cali … showed me that I had forgotten about all the optimism I had as a kid. When I was a kid, I thought I could do anything. I thought everything was possible.”
No word from the horse…
