David Cameron Holidays In Germany
IN “Cameron German accent is blasted”, the Sun’s Philip Case says:
CONSERVATIVE leader David Cameron caused a stir last night when he put on a German accent to mock ID cards.
Zo? Vot ov zis “gaffe”?
Explaining his concern about ID cards, he said in a cod German accent:
“Where are your papers?”
A woman in the Norwich audience asked him: “I wonder about the wisdom of you adopting a German accent?”
Indeed, as Old Mr Anorak points out, the preffered accent for matters of papers and their giving over is Austrian. It’s an easy enough mistake to make, but one Cameron vould be very vise not to repeat.
It’s the first sprouting of Cameron’s moustache of power…
