Daily Mail: “Michael Jackson’s doctor goes on the run as family say he was given ‘heavy dose of painkiller’ before heart attack”
Michael Jackson was given a ‘heavy dose of morphine‘ shortly before he collapsed and died, his family have revealed.
The singer’s relatives told website TMZ.com, who first broke the news of his death last night, that he was given the pain-killing drug at his home in Los Angeles.
It also claimed his father Joe had wanted him admitted to a rehab facility in California to treat a crippling addiction to morphine and prescription drugs.

MICHAEL Jackson’s upcoming tour and “life threatening” addiction to painkillers pushed the fragile star to breaking point, it was claimed today.
The King of Pop was under immense pressure to perform a series of epic concerts in London as part of his “This Is It” tour.
