Thousands of people pass the checkpoint at 'Bernauer Strasse' street in Berlin, Germany, 12 November 1989. 28 years after the building of the Berlin Wall, millions of GDR citizens travelled to West Germany for a short visit after the opening of the inner German borders on the night of 09 November 1989.
