Church Peadophile Is Too Fat For Prison, Remains At Large
JOHN William McConaghy, from Urbal Road, Dervock, County Antrim, is found guilty of indecent assaulting a child from when she was 10 until when she as 18. McConaghy is a paedophile. He is also “church elder”. And he is fat.
So fat is he that Judge David Smyth at Antrim Crown Court has suspended a two-and-a-half year jail term on account of the fat paedo’s lack of mobility, ulcerated legs and need for frequent dressings. These, the court leans, are “wholly exceptional circumstances”.
The jail term is suspended for three years and McConaghy is fined £10,000. Says the victim:
“I am happy with the sentence he got, I think that was a fair sentence, but I am not happy with the suspension of it, but I understand the reason for it on medical grounds.”
Justice is done. Right?
