New York And LA TV Stations In War Of The Burning Logs

by | 22nd, December 2009

ANSWERING the question ‘What’s more wooden than the cast of Hollyoaks?’ are the KCAL-TV and KTLA TV stations. Anork’s Man in LA tells us:

A STATION in New York’s been doing it years… running video of a burning fireplace for much of Christmas morning.

Now the holiday tradition is going bi-coastal in a big way, with two different Los Angeles stations firing up competing fireplace flames on the holiday.

KCAL-TV lights up at 6am, with the flames not dying down until 10 o’clock.

And this year, competitor KTLA starts it’s pyrotechnic show a full 90-minutes earlier, at 4:30am.

So far, The Rat hasn’t been able to confirm whether either of the video flame-outs will be shown in high-def.

But you don’t have to live on either coast to fire up your television on Christmas morning.

Popular cable station WGN America will televise its own yule log, from 8 to 11 a.m. ET – RR

This is telly for people who will watch anything. This si telly for people who watch telly…
