On Jews, Israel, Organs, Alder Hey, Jordan, Galloway, Mengele And Anti-Semitism
IN Israel, pathologists removed body parts from dead Israelis and Palestinians in the 1990s. The scandal was reported on Israeli TV. George Galloway has spotted the story. Before we get to his blog in the Daily Record, you may recall the scandal at Alder Hey Children’s hospital where organs from hundreds of babies who had died between 1988-1996 were harvested.
George Galloway compares the giongs on in Israel to the…Holocaust. The practise has now stopped. No-one was killed for their organs. And all bodies were treated equally, irrespective of race.
Still less of anyone being held accountable for playing mini-Mengele on Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

The Donaldson report found that 105,000 organs are retained at hospitals and medical schools across England.
The story emerged in an interview with Dr Yehuda Hiss, former head of the Abu Kabir forensic institute near Tel Aviv. The interview was conducted in 2000 by an American academic who released it because of the row between Israel and Sweden over a report in the Stockholm newspaper Aftonbladet.
Channel 2 TV reported that in the 1990s, specialists at Abu Kabir harvested skin, corneas, heart valves and bones from the bodies of Israeli soldiers, Israeli citizens, Palestinians and foreign workers, often without permission from relatives.
The Israeli military confirmed to the programme that the practice took place, but added: “This activity ended a decade ago and does not happen any longer.”

However, there was no evidence that Israel had killed Palestinians to take their organs, as the Swedish paper reported. Aftonbladet quoted Palestinians as saying young men from the West Bank and Gaza Strip had been seized by the Israeli forces and their bodies returned to their families with missing organs.
Grim. But a Holocaust?
Galloway has deliberately distorted two separate stories in order to slur Israel. Swedish journalist Donald Bostrom’s blood libel has already been thoroughly debunked and deconstructed. However, the dangers posed by such a libel have already been proven. Since the article went to print, rumors of Israeli organ-harvesting surfaced in Ukrainian elections, were an excuse to ban Israeli doctors from an Egyptian medical conference, and brought at least one pseudo-journalist crawling out of the woodwork with copycat claims.
Meanwhile in the UK:
More than 200 hospitals have been instructed to account for all the organs and human tissue being held in mortuaries and pathology labs, because of concerns that body parts are being stored illegally, without the consent of bereaved relatives.
The HTA has ordered the probe after finding five cases in which bodies which had been examined for post-mortem were released for burial or cremation without their brains.
But that wasn’t in Israel. Here’s Galloway:
The Satanic evil of Nazism murdered many millions. Some they merely worked to death, others they tortured then executed. Still others were systematically starved.
Many, most of them Jews, were shuffled into gas chambers on the pretext of being given a shower. The shoes they took off on the way in are perfectly preserved in the camp.
After they were dead their gold fillings were extracted, their body parts were harvested, some were subject to medical experimentation even before death.
It was thought that such a thing could never happen again. And it has not – on such a scale of barbarism the Holocaust remains unique.
But the revelation in the Israeli parliament in recent days that the body parts of Palestinian prisoners were systematically harvested without the knowledge or consent of their families has had an impact in these parts which it is difficult to overstate.
Over in Jordan, Mengel is at work:
In September, 11 Jordanians were extradited by Cairo and charged in Amman with trafficking in human organs, mainly kidneys, and selling them illegally in Egypt for up to 30,000 dollars each.

Finally, you can always believe what you read – it’s just the facts, right:
We should not have put the headline “Israel admits harvesting Palestinian organs” on a story about an admission, by the former head of the Abu Kabir forensic institute near Tel Aviv, that during the 1990s specialists at the institute harvested organs from the bodies of Israeli soldiers, Israeli citizens, Palestinians and foreign workers without getting permission from the families of the deceased (21 December, page 15). That headline did not match the article, which made clear that the organs were not taken only from Palestinians. This was a serious editing error and the headline has been changed online to reflect the text of the story written by the reporter.
