Pop star Ian Dury arrives at the London headquarters of leading charity CancerBACUP, to help launch a new helpline for people living with cancer. The event involved 850 balloons being released above the city to publicise the charity's work. 29/04/02:The late wordsmith and music icon Ian Dury was being remembered by the switching on of a musical memorial bench at a poets' corner. Dury, the unlikely chart star and people's poet who died just over two years ago, was being honoured with the solarpowered seat which plays a selection of his songs in south London's Richmond Park, a favourite of the star. The bench was being placed in the Poets' Corner of Pembroke Lodge within the vast park where the Blockheads star would spend many a happy hour with his family.
