A traditional horse and carriage containing the coffin of pop star Ian Dury, led the funeral cortege. Flowers lay above the coffin bearing the words, "Ian from Durex". * Other flowers on the hearse were from the band Madness who sent a message saying 'Uncle Ian from Madness'. Other flowers said 'Oi Oi', 'Dad' and 'Durex', the latter a play on Ian Dury's name. The procession left from the Belsize Park area of north London, and passed within half a mile of Kilburn High Road, which gave its name to his first band. Dury died last week aged 57, after a long battle with cancer.
