The Curry Murder: Lakhvir Kaur Singh’s Spurned Recipe

LAKHVIR Kaur Singh murdered her former lover Lakhvinder Cheema and caused grievous bodily harm with intent to Ms Gurjeet Choongh by poisoning their curry with the Indian herb aconite. Mr Cheema had earlier told Singh, married at the time, that their 16-year affair was over. He would marry Choongh. Singh fed them curry. Mr Cheema ate more than Chongh. He went blind. He lost the use of his limbs. Then he died. A crime of passion? The story in pictures:
