Why John Terry Escapes And The Sun Guns For Ashley Cole
WHILE News Cops cheers for John Terry, spiking the story of his alleged sex with Vanessa Perroncel and other women, replacing that with tales of a man of “candour” and love, the Sun guns for Ashley Cole, alleged sex texter?
Cole enjoys a tabloid profile between paedophile and MP. He has not helped himself in the past, (* “EXCLUSIVE WHAT COLE’S PEOPLE TOLD BLONDE HE BEDDED – If you’re pregnant, we’ll fix it”) but why should the Sun lead with a picture of Ashely on a mobile phone – and just as Terry zooms off to Dubai? While, we wonder, we remind you of this:
* The multi-millionaire Chelsea ace – nicknamed Cashley and on £82,000 a week – threatened to sue The Sun for aggravated damages if we published pictures showing him beside a beautiful blonde.
And it was the Sun that introduced Aimee Walton, she of the vomit-‘n’-tell alleged sex with Cole.

But before that, Cole once sued the Sun and the NoTW and he won:
The first of the contentious NoW stories was published on 12 February headlined “Gay as you Go”. It alleged that “two bisexual stars made some very dirty phone calls — using a mobile as a gay sex toy”.
It claimed that two Premiership footballers, one capped several times for England, and a music industry figure were caught on camera involved in a “homosexual orgy”.
On 19 February, the News of the World published a follow-up story that claimed to show two of the men involved in the alleged orgy. It captioned the picture “Music Figure A and Player A”, but heavily obscured the photograph.
The News of the World stories were followed up by The Sun, which made similar allegations, but again did not name the footballers involved.
Since then many bloggers and websites have tracked down what they believe to be the original, unobscured, picture that appeared in the News of the World. One supposed original is displayed on the Pink News website. The photo shows a dance music DJ with Ashley Cole.
Cole sued. Cole won:
* An apology printed on page three of yesterday’s News of the World says: “Although the photograph was pixillated some readers have understood Mr Cole to be one of the footballers and Masterstepz to be the DJ concerned. We are happy to make clear that Mr Cole and Masterstepz were not involved in any such activities. We apologise to them for any distress caused and we will be paying them each a sum in the way of damages.”
Now see Cole in the Sun in his knickers – and spot John Terry on the beach in his wide grin.
