Man With Six Feet Steals 1200 Shoes
IN South Korea, six-footed Park has stolen 1200 pairs of shoes. Having taken them from funerals β local custom dictates shoes should be removed β Park was nabbed by police. The shoes are put out in rows ready to be claimed.
The Times Joanna Sugden tells a very odd version of events:
They came from all around the South Korean capital as victims of an unusual crime. Each had lost an expensive and cherished pair of shoes while attending a funeral.
Why would the shoes be cherished? Do you cherish shoes? She goes on:
That man, known only as Park, would then take off his own footwear, put on a more expensive pair and walk off.
Yep. He owned 1200 pairs of shoes. Whe went to 1200 funerals.
Park was amassing ranks of buffed and polished slip-ons for his second hand shoe business.
Itβs the greatest shoe shop ever β 1200 pairs of shoes in no order. Sizes? Take your chances. Widths? What do we have? Styles? Yes. Lots.
Park would disguise himself as a mourner and make his way around the city’s funeral homes swiping shoes as he went.
He was only stopped when police caught him stealing three pairs of shoes, with a total retail value of two million won ($1,750) when new, at one funeral parlour.
Wow! Man with six feet steals shoes!
