Policeman Arrests Teenage Brother For Stealing Three Cans Of Beer From Family Fridge
A POLICEMAN is never off duty. Mindful of that we journey to North Somerset Courthouse, where a 15-year-old youth is on the dock, accused by his policeman brother of stealing three cans of beer from the family fridge. Value: £4.
He is arrested for theft and placed in a cell for the night.
Mr Charles Hart, defending, opines that the brothers had experienced a “relationship breakdown.”
Says the accused:
“I got into the house expecting no one to be there and I took the beers and left.”
He was given a three-month referral order and was due to meet with a social worker later that day.
Says magistrate Nicky McClure:
“What we are doing today is giving you something that will not give you a criminal record and after your referral hopefully things will sort themselves out.”
