Police Arrest Man For Wearing Clown Mask
IN the self-styled land of the free, Matthew David Lopez has been arrested and charged with wearing a clown mask in public.
Lopez is dressed in a bright red-and-orange wig.
He is being followed by an unmarked police car. Lopez walks behind an office building, along a path described in police reports as “slightly wooded”.
Is a thought crime being enacted? Can the copper be certain Lopez is wearing mask and not a friend of Katie Price’s?
A police car arrives and Lopez runs. (Put the flower down, sir. Sir, the flower!)
Then:
Lopez is caught. He is taken to the Hillsborough County Jail on charges of wearing a mask or hood on a public road after the age of 16 and resisting arrest without violence. He was released on $750 bail.
Such is life in the land of the free…
