In Pictures: 15000 Bikers Ride For Afghan Troops In Wootton Bassett
THEY came en masse to Wootton Bassett. Men in hoods, some with beards and most dressed in black. No, not the Swindon mujahideen. These were bikers. Around 15,000 bikers came to Wootton Basset. Each rider paid £5 to the charity Afghan Heroes to honour troops killed in Afghanistan. Said one Guardian reader: “When I heard abnout the procession I thought they were extremist Muslim and was all for freedom of expression. But imagine my horror at this wanton burning of fossil fuels that will kill us all…”
