Bunker Buster Bombs To Diego Garcia As US Prepares To Attack Iran
THE Sunday Herald’s Rob Edwards has an exclusive story on Diego Garcia and Iran which is being politely ignored by just about everyone else.
It is probably worth more than a passing glance. If true, this can not be carried out without the permission of the British Government. There has been NO Parliamentary report about this and MPs have NOT been openly informed..
Edwards says hundreds of powerful US “bunker-buster” bombs are being shipped from California to the British island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean in preparation for a possible attack on Iran. The Island has been a joint US and UK military base since 1971.
The Sunday Herald piece says:
“The US government signed a contract in January to transport 10 ammunition containers to the island. According to a cargo manifest from the US navy, this included 387 “Blu” bombs used for blasting hardened or underground structures.
“Experts say that they are being put in place for an assault on Iran’s controversial nuclear facilities. There has long been speculation that the US military is preparing for such an attack, should diplomacy fail to persuade Iran not to make nuclear weapons.”
Gearing Up For Destruction
Dan Plesch, director of the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy at the University of London, and co-author of a recent study on US preparations for an attack on Iran, is quoted as saying:
“They are gearing up totally for the destruction of Iran. US bombers are ready today to destroy 10,000 targets in Iran in a few hours.”
Which seems to show an extraordinary knowledge of the innermost strategies of the Pentagon. Another one-way UK to USA extradition treaty shuffle on the cards for Dan?
Diego Garcia is part of the British Indian Ocean Territory, it is used almost exclusively by the US as a military base under an agreement made in 1971. The agreement led to 2,000 native islanders being forcibly evicted to the Seychelles and Mauritius. There are around 50 UK staff and over 3,500 USA personnel.
Missed the yarn at the weekend, but better late than never.
The US Department of Defence did not respond to a request for a comment.
Strange that.

Foreign and Commonwealth Office handout picture dated 04-04-06 of Noel Rabouine opening coconuts, on the Salomon Island of Boddam, part of the Chagos archipelago, issued Thursday April 6 2006. Mr Rabouine, a former plantation worker on the island, was among a group of islanders, evacuated against their will 40 years ago to make way for the Diego Garcia US military base, taking part in a tour of the islands organised jointly by the British and Mauritian governments in co-operation with Chagossian community leaders. The group, numbering nearly 100, was made up of evacuated islanders and their descendants. During their visit they tended family graves and unveiled a stone commemorating the visit.
