Months of uncertainty were due to end today (Thursday) for more than 20 police officers claiming compensation for the psychological injuries they suffered after tending victims of the 1989 tragedy. The appeal is being closely watched by relatives of the 96 fans who died at Hillsborough, some of whom were refused stress damages while others received only modest sums.
