Doctor Was Quite Surprised’ To Remove Man’s Testicle By Mistake
SURGEON Sulieman Al Hourani was “quite surprised” when he accidentally severed a man’s testicle at Fairfield General Hospital in Bury, Greater Manchester. At a meeting of the General Medical Council, we heard that Dr Sulieman Al Hourani was hired to remove an epididymal cyst on the patient’s right testis. But he took of the whole thing.
Sarah Prichard, counsel for the GMC, says the testicle was removed “as one nurse helping the surgeon turned her back to get a stitch”.
Dr Sulieman Al Hourani, now living in his native Jordan, has previous. He received an official warning when he administered not the full 10 milligrams of the powerful sedative midazolam to a patient, reserving 2mg for himself. He was later discovered “deeply asleep” in the doctors’ mess room.
The case continues…
