DECEMBER 7th : On this day in 1916 David Lloyd George was appointed the new Prime Minister of Britain by the king. 1916: David Lloyd George with British Tommies from the Royal Welch Fusiliers and the Welsh Regiment at Kimmel Camp, Rhyl, North Wales. Lloyd George was an enthusiastic supporter of the creation of a Welsh Division (38th) for the British Army.
