Paedophile Priest John Sidney Denham Grandstands In Court
CATHOLIC Priests John Sidney Denham, 67, has pleaded guilty to molesting boys at schools in New South Wales, Australia. He abused the children aged between five and 16 between 1968 and 1986. He has been sentenced to 19 years and 10 months jail. Denham says he is a “mere scumbag paedophile“.

Judge Helen Syme realises that Denham was not alone:
“The offender’s actions contributed to a culture of fear and depravity, especially at the school, which allowed these disturbing offences to occur and then remain unpunished for years.”
He needed the Catholic Church to permit his action to go on unpunished. Says one mother of the abused:
“He was a horrendous man, really horrendous. It just all goes back on to the families – it’s ruined families, siblings. It’s disgusting, the hierarchy in the Catholic Church.”
Has anything changed to prevent this occurring again?
