Raoul Moat: The Hunt In Pictures And More Police Irony
RAOUL Moat is at large. But the news blackout can be ended. Yesterday the police ordered journalists not to report that Moat had taken two hostages. It turns out that these alleged hostages The two men, thought to have been with Moat, have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
The police are already accused of failing Samantha Stobbart. They were told by prison staff that Moat was after her. But they did not protect her.
Did the media do right in not reporting the incident and adhering to the police advice?
As the Mail puts it:
Journalists were told they would have blood on their hands if details were reported and Moat was prompted to injure or kill again.
Whish, given the alleged failings of the police, seems ironic…
