Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service Fire Bike Works Only On Rubbish Fires
WE went to see the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service “fire bike”. It costs £30,000.
The 1,200cc BMW bikes are equipped with two 25 litre canisters filled with water and foam and a high powered 30m jet hose.
The hose shoots can extinguish a car fire in 20 seconds.
Says a spokesman for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service:
“About 60 per cent of what we do is putting out ‘rubbish fires’. These are fires that don’t pose a threat to people or buildings.”
Rubbish! Call that a real fire? Pathetic.
