Madeleine McCann’s Name Dragged Into MPs’ Expenses Scandal

by | 8th, August 2010

IT’S the Fourth Summer Of Madeleine McCann, albeit a belatedly. We had thought this summer would be Our Maddie free unless she was joyously found or there was a clue to what occurred that fateful night.

But she has been in the news for other reasons. Gerry and Kate McCann have speaking with another Home Secretary – this time it’s Theresa May being inducted into her job with a chance to appear caring but do nothing; and we met Kiesha Abrahams, Australia’s Madeleine McCann.

She has still not been found:

The air and ground search for missing six-year-old Sydney girl Kiesha Abrahams has been called off but anyone and everyone remains a suspect. Police announced on Sunday that the massive search in areas around the family’s home at Mt Druitt, in Sydney’s west, has been suspended unless they receive new information.

Now, Our Maddie had made an appearance in the MPs’ expense scandal.

The saga of the MP accused of making false council tax claims took another bizarre twist last night as an adviser to Kate and Gerry McCann was dragged into the affair.

David Hughes, who was media adviser to the McCanns in the months after their daughter Madeleine disappeared, admitted staying with Liberal Democrat Tessa Munt while she claimed a single resident’s discount.”

Tessa Munt… What a terrific name. But Munter is just a vehicle for more Our Maddie non-news…

Madeleine McCann is missing. Still missing. There are no suspects. We do not know what crime, if any, befell her. But she remains the benchmark of missing children and a defining moment in many people’s careers…

mccanns may Madeleine McCann: The Story In PicturesThe poster of the girl becoming Our Maddie is out. An e-fit of a suspect is produced. And the British press begins to attack the Portuguese. The Sun brings “MADDIE COPS HAVE E-FIT”. And more headlines inside: “SCRUFFY WEIRDO HUNTED OVER BRIT TOT” “PROWLER SPOTTED BEFORE MADDIE TAKEN” “Brit police send two paedo hunters” The investigation is ongoing. But the Sun says Portuguese police refuse to show the E-fit image of the wanted man because it breaks the law. It’s an “E-fit farce”. In “TEN BLUNDERS”, the Mirror lists the errors. It includes the decision not to show it this E-fit picture of the wanted man. Portuguese police have only shown it to locals, to those people who might have seen the man and seen what he did.
