New York Clerk Says Broker Stood On Her Breasts – Wants $20m
JESSICA Franqui alleges that Marcus Bolton, 45, the head of Tullett Prebon Americas Corp, a leading New York brokers, stood on her chest.
Miss Franqui, who was working as an administrative clerk in the foreign exchange team, claims she was left feeling “violated” and “humiliated” by an “intoxicated” Mr Bolton.
Miss Franqui’s lawyers, Weiss & Rosenbloom, say their client suffered “great humiliation and emotional distress; anxiety and severe depression; loss of earnings and future earning capacity; and damage to her reputation and good name”.
This, they calculate, is worth $20million.
Barry Weiss, Miss Franqui’s lawyer, says his client is undergoing psychological counselling. Says he:
“There is a video of this [incident] from the trading floor; the camera doesn’t start unless there is movement. You can see him [Mr Bolton] coming over, can see them actually getting up dancing and dipping but the critical three to four seconds when she’s being stepped on are missing.”
She claims this exchange then took place after she was stood on:
Miss Franqui: “I can’t believe you were standing on my chest.”
Mr Bolton: “Oh, come on now, it’s alright, they [her breasts] are big and you probably didn’t even feel it [his foot]’.”
Before she says she was stood on, Miss Franqui says this happened:
“Defendant, Bolton, immediately and without warning, spun and dipped plaintiff backwards into a vulnerable position, and held her close to his face and body against her will. During plaintiff’s struggle to free herself from [the] defendant, Bolton’s grasp, he released her from his grip and she dropped to the floor on her back.” With her “prostrate on the ground”, it is further alleged that Mr Bolton “stepped directly and heavily onto plaintiff’s right breast with force enough to cause significant pain and shortness of breath.”
We have no news of any response from the accused. The case continues…
