X Factor: Will Shagger Olly Murs Ever Get To Play With Robbie Williams?

by | 19th, August 2010

THE X Factor is due to crash onto your TV screens soon and that means it’s time to find out what happened to last season’s runner-up Olly Murs, blonde Robbie Williams tribute act Olly Murs.

The Sun’s Gordon Smart says Murs has the “winning formula”, is a “star” and had an “incredible year”. (The hermetically sealed snow globe?)

Murs has had good pop songs and hits? No. But he has shagged more women than Nick Clegg – “at least thirty”.

And the other highlight is that the man who moved like he’s sliding on a skiddy-poo is still in touch with Robbie Williams. Williams was the singer assigned to accompany Murs for the X Factor final.

Having set up the laddish Murs to be the new Williams, the sun’s Mr Smart is happy to keep the marketing dream alive:

“Even this week, they talked about Robbie’s wedding, before the Take That star offered him a game with his LA football team”.

Murs’ career is seemingly founded on how close he can get to Williams. Somehow, Olly ended up playing at the 2010 Soccer Aid match at Old Trafford. Williams was also there.

That was in June. Back in January, Murs told us:

“I’m a bit disappointed Robbie hasn’t been in touch. I texted him to say Happy New Year and congratulations on getting engaged but heard nothing back.”

The marketing-led marriage was not working out. Before that, Olly told us:

“I’d love to work with Robbie more – maybe a Christmas duet next year! He wants me to go to his house in LA after the X Factor tour. He’s got a football pitch in his garden and wants me to come over and play football with him.”

How Williams needs Olly Murs! And so we get today’s news that Murs has been invited to play football with Robbie Williams in LA.

Maybe he will. Maybe next year…
