Putin’s Goons Fail To Break The 31 Movement And Crack Heads
AT the Strategy 31 meeting in Moscow, the locals demanding the right to assemble chanted “Russia will be Free!” and “Russia without Putin!” and “This is our city“.
Putin says demonstrators deserve to be beaten up if they took part in demonstrations not sanctioned by his Government. He tells Kommersant:
“They need to obtain permission from the local authorities… If they go out without permission, they’ll take a cudgel to the head. That’s all there is to it.”
Usually the dissenting voices mass on Triumfalnaya Square on the last day of each month that has 31 days in “defense of their right to freedom of assembly, as enshrined in Article 31 of the Russian Constitution.”
Incidentally, the powers that be have just announced that Triumfalnaya Square will be the site of a new underground car park. Building will start sometime whenever. In the meantime, the area will be fenced off and no-one allowed to enter.
Back in London, Boris Berezovsky, the “Godfather of Strategy-31” abroad was outside the Russian Embassy at 6/7 Kensington Palace Gardens – which could do with a car park.
Berezovsky was joined by Marina Litvinenko, the widow of Alexander Litvinenko, the former Russian spy who was killed by poison.
In the US, the talk of is the Glen Beck gathering. Right and left bicker over the middle ground. They don’t know how lucky they are…
