After The Puppy-Tossing Girl And Mary Bale Sidney The Goat Is The Latest Abused Animal In The News
AFTER Mary Bale’s binning of Lola the cat and the puppies tossing girl, meet Sidney the goat.
The summer has been light on shark stories but we’ve got lots of abused animals.
The latest animal in the news is Sidney, the 19-year-old black pygmy goat who had his horns ripped off. His injuries were so bad, Sidney had to be put down.
Sidney lived with Deborah Bailey, at the Tennyson Horse and Pony Sanctuary in Middleton, Greater Manchester.
Says she:
“We have not a clue in the world why he was attacked, but someone would have had to know where he was. He would not have come out at night but would have gone to his little home under some trees where it is very dark…
“It was dreadful – Sidney had two huge caverns in his head where his horns had been ripped out and he was dripping in blood.
“Sidney has lived happily at the sanctuary for about 10 years and there doesn’t seem to be any reason why anyone would attack him in this cruel way.”
Sick stuff. So whodunit? And can we expect daily tales of cruelty to animals in the mainstream news or just until all the hacks are back at work…
