Man Stole Neighbour’s Curtains And Hanged Them In Own Window

by | 5th, October 2010

VILLAIN of the Day is Jason Williams, 38, who stole his neighbour’s net curtains and then hung them in his front window.

Williams’ plan would have worked had his neighbour not spotted their curtains.

At Reading Crown Court William, of Cumberland Avenue, Slough, is sentenced for stealing the curtains, two glass ashtrays and some lamb steaks from the freezer.

Says Alastair Smith, defending:

The fact that this defendant went on to place the curtains in his own window shows a lack of sophistication and realisation of the seriousness of the offence. If he realised it could lead to three years in custody he might have taken more time to consider his actions.”

Williams is jailed for two years and five months under the “three strikes” rule because it was his fourth burglary.
