Sunderland Dad Fakes Burglary To Get Free Gifts For Daughter
WHEN Sunderland dad Tim Wood told the world that thieves had stolen the £500-worth of Christmas presents he had bought for his two-year-old daughter Abbey, he expected sympathy. No, scratch that. He expected free gifts. Lots of them.
He also very probably expected a new telly and microwave, because he said the thieves had stolen them too.
But then he made a trip to Peterlee Police station and confessed to his attempted scam. There had been no robbery. He gets no public sympathy. All he gets is an £80 fixed penalty notice for wasting police time.
Says he:
“I did it because I thought people might donate Christmas presents and I would get some more for Abbey.”
Hearing that, who can not feel sorry for Abbey? It’s Christmas, people. Send gifts to Anorak and we will see that Abbey gets them – unless they are stolen from our depot…
