Australia Introduces Airbags On The Outside Of Cars
FANTASTIC travel news from Ashes-starved Australia, from where Tim Blair reports that Sydney cyclists are to get their own traffic lights and, in a bid to prevent injuries, cars will come with airbags on the outside. Yeah, the bag will inflate just, er, before the collision.
Can’t fail:
Under a proposal from the powerful State Government StaySafe committee, cyclists would have their own green traffic signals to get a head start over vehicles – similar to lights currently in use for government buses.
Other plans to protect cyclists include putting airbags on the outside of cars to reduce the severity of collisions with cyclists …
Or suffocate them…
