Student Deniz Ozgun’s Porn Film Dissertation Shocks Turkey
DENIZ Ozgun wowed the knobs at Istanbul’s Bilgi University by producing a porn film for his final year dissertation.
His film failed in its mission to portray a multi-layered meaning in a postmodern miasma of…etc. He did not pass. The man whose website tells of his “general interest in women” failed. But he did tell a local organ about it.
And as a polemic the film is a raging success. The private university’s film department has been shut. Three academics have been sacked. And police are investigating.
Amazing that in Turkey porn can still shock and that the students aren’t making porn films on their camera phones in the bogs like their peers in Bedford and Cambridge.
One other thing to note is that making a porn film to engage and inform cannot be easy. Softened up by images of sex everywhere we look, anyone seeking to create an actual stand-out porno is faced with a very hard task.
Ozgun might well score bonus points for even trying…
